Traditional Tapestries Medieval Running Rabbit Wall Plaque - 15th Century
An exquisitely handcrafted tapestry wall plaque. The original wall tapestries are the most celebrated set that has survived from the medieval period. They consist of six, now in the Cluny Museum Paris, depicting the five human senses. Designed in Paris & woven in Brussels around 1470 by Williem de Pannemaker for Jean Le Viste (arms shown on the standards), whose family originated from Lyon and served Charles VIII. In the loosely strewn flowers, all kinds of animals disport themselves. Even the smallest details are reproduced with great care. Our Extract shows a delightful rabbit running.
Traditional Tapestries use only the finest quality materials & workmanship in all aspects of their collections, each item makes a superb gift to cherish for a lifetime.
