Canon Francis Burkitt

Francis joined Chapter in 2022, having formerly been a member of the Cathedral Council and serves on the Ely Diocesan Board of Finance as Chair for the Assets Committee.

He was born and brought up in Cambridgeshire, and lives with his family in Grantchester.

Francis works for a leading financial advisory firm in the City of London, where he advises FTSE-100 and FTSE-250 companies and many housing, education and other charities on their finances.

From 2006–18 Francis was a South Cambridgeshire District Councillor; and from 2014–19 he was a non-executive director of the Cambridge Building Society. He is currently a non-executive director of EdenTree Investment Management, one of the leading responsible and sustainable investment managers, ultimately owned by The Benefact Trust, one of the UK’s largest grant-making charities.
